_ Research
My research is organized around three main axes. First, I am interested in designing movement-based interactions (gestural or involving the whole body), with an emphasis the modeling of the expressive qualities of movement. Second, I am particularly interested in the sonification of movement, that is, using continuous auditory feedback to aid learning or personal expression in various contexts, especially artistic ones (dance and music). Finally, an increasing portion of my work concerns Human-centered AI, especially regarding the involvement of novices and end-users in AI development. My contributions include both empirical studies that aim to understand how novices interact with machine-learning systems and the development of architectures and tools that facilitate human-AI interaction.
